Management and Implementation

Find experts in and gain knowledge on management and implementation of policies, new initiatives and reforms in the welfare areas.

VIVE conducts research on management and implementation processes in the welfare areas, including how frameworks for governance, such as free municipality experiments, affect the quality of public service.

New policies, innovative solutions and reforms can lead to higher quality in the welfare areas only if they are implemented and supported by management. At VIVE, we examine how citizens, frontline staff, managers, administration and politicians affect how new policies, initiatives and reforms are received and implemented. We also examine how implementation and management are linked to the welfare and quality that citizens receive. Finally, we examine how the organisation of welfare areas can facilitate leadership, new technologies and collaboration.

VIVE has knowledge of how frameworks for governance, such as management autonomy and free municipality experiments, affect the quality of public service. We are also concerned with different types of management, such as professional management, results-based management and vision management, and with the consequences of management for employee motivation, job satisfaction, co-operation and the quality of the service provided to the citizens.
