Children, Adolescents and Families
In this area, you can get an overview of factors and institutions that affect families and the daily lives, upbringing and development of children and adolescents. VIVE has a special focus on children and adolescents in disadvantaged and vulnerable positions, such as children and adolescents placed in care, the inclusion of pupils with special needs and the general well-being of children and adolescents.
Daycare, School and Education
Three large institutions comprise the framework for a significant part of children and adolescents’ daily lives as they grow up and develop. VIVE conducts a wide range of studies in the areas of day care, schools and education, both in-depth quantitative studies and large statistical studies. Several analyses have a special focus on vulnerable groups, such as pupils with special needs
Economy and Governance
VIVE conducts research on the general economic development of municipalities, the overall economy of each municipality and management of the economy in various sector areas. VIVE also prepares municipal key figures that you can use to compare municipalities.
The Elderly
VIVE has knowledge on elderly people viewed from numerous angles. For instance, the living conditions of the elderly, the organisation of elder care, housing for the elderly and recruitment and retention in the labour market.
Health Care
In this area, you can find VIVE studies on how we can improve health and health care for both patients and staff. We are concerned with the physical and mental health of citizens and the institutions, organisations and initiatives aimed at creating better health in the population.
Labour Market
This page brings together VIVE’s knowledge of the labour market – including in particular the areas of employment and labour market integration. It covers a wide range of topics, such as structural trends, labour shortage, retirement, working conditions and issues relating to vulnerable groups in the labour market.
Management and Implementation
VIVE conducts research on management and implementation processes in the welfare areas, including how frameworks for governance, such as free municipality experiments, affect the quality of public service.
The Social Sector
This area brings together research and analyses on people in Denmark in different kinds of marginalised and vulnerable positions. For instance, people whose lives are characterised by poverty, physical and mental distress, crime or loneliness. VIVE carries out research into which initiatives work and make a difference for the individual citizen and society as a whole.
